The six things I have learned so far about starting a business

It’s been 3 months since Ezrah Consulting Limited began trading. So far, going solo and starting the company has been the best decision I have ever made.

You won’t be surprised to know; a LOT has changed. I get to experience the “first time” nearly every single day and I have a renewed sense of awe and admiration for people and businesses that have been trading independently and who are succeeding.

Instead of one employer, I now have three clients who are retaining my services for business development; Emerald Bay, Baker Mallett LLP, and Whitfield & Brown Limited and unlike the littlest hobo, I feel at home in every place I go. No day is the same and I love it!

Not only that but the Ezrah team is also being kept busy! In the last month alone, we have secured two new clients and been awarded three more contracts for services. We were also appointed for our professional training and coaching by Women in Property for an event in October.

My days are a lot longer than they used to be, and I am living by the motto, short-term pain long-term gain, but I know this won’t be forever. Right now, I am focusing on growing a sustainable business and to re-quote my pops:”Winners never quit, and quitters never win!”

The Six Things I Have Learned So Far About Starting A Business!

  1. You must roll your sleeves up and do a lot for yourself.
  2. You need your friends more than ever.
  3. If you are not willing to put the effort in, don’t expect to get anything in return.
  4. If it puts you outside your comfort zone – do it!
  5. Your days can’t be too structured. Go with the flow!
  6. Establishing your IT systems is essential and having IT support is a must.
